Get Outside and Go Wild at the
Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival

Get outside and go wild at the 2nd Annual Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival presented by News/Talk 750 WSB AM at the GeorgiaInternationalHorsePark, located in Conyers, GA August 23-24 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The outdoor festival will provide fun for the entire family as it features wildlife exhibits, demonstrations, hands-on activities, local performances, children’s activities, arts and crafts. Guests can find many ways to enjoy the outdoors with highlights such as a birds of prey exhibit and reptile show.
The 2008 event will also feature Steve Scruggs, the Snake Master, as he presents snakes from across North America. Wildlife Wonders, as seen on The Discovery Channel, will give guests an up-close encounter with many different wild animals, while educator Carol Brown will tell Native American stories in the living history section.  Guests will have the opportunity to meet O’Neil Williams, host of the radio show O’Neill Outside featured on News/Talk 750 WSB AM Saturday mornings 4 a.m.-6 a.m. O’Neill will make an appearance on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at the WSB tent.  See other native wildlife at the A.W.A.R.E exhibit from PanolaMountainState Park. Guests can learn the basics of fly-fishing, archery and hunting with hands-on demonstrations provided by
Venture Outdoors.   The living history section will offer a glimpse of the past as re-enactors show how Creek and Cherokee Indians lived off the land and how the influence of early settlers changed their lives. Kids can enjoy themselves as they view animals or create their own nature themed artwork at the complementary art and craft tent provided by Stone Mountain Ministries.
The festival strives to promote enjoyment and understanding of the natural world around us through art, crafts, entertainment, demonstrations, fun and games. The festival also highlights the BigHaynesCreekNatureCenter. Located just across the street from the GeorgiaInternationalHorsePark, the BigHaynesCreekNatureCenter offers walking trails, observation docks overlooking the wetlands, and a canoe launch.
Admission to the festival is $5 per person with children ages 4 and under free. Free parking is available just across from the festival entrance. For event information or directions to the GeorgiaInternationalHorsePark, located just off Interstate 20, call the ConyersWelcomeCenter at (770) 602-2606 or 1-800-CONYERS.  Visit The Big Haynes Creek Wildlife Festival web page at www.bighaynescreekwildlifefestival.com for more information.
